In late 2005, our founders were approached to build a web-based timesheet management product for TNS, one of the world’s largest market research companies.
Enfinit Software Ltd was formed and development commenced. By mid-2006, about 2,300 TNS employees throughout 15 Asia-Pacific countries were using TimeFiler to submit their weekly timesheets online, a process critical to the company’s revenues. Read their case study here.
2006-2007: The gap in the market
We recognised a gap in the market for a quality, web-based time management product, providing users a single website for roster, leave and timesheet management. In particular, we saw an opportunity to ensure users fill forms in correctly, by showing associated payments as well as customisable warnings and tips as the form is completed (learn more about how TimeFiler compares to alternative timesheet solutions here).
Existing products were either too simplistic for medium-large organisations, or too expensive to implement. Web2.0 had arrived but companies were still using paper and spreadsheets (70% of retailers use paper timesheets!)
Mid-2007: TimeFiler released
The New Zealand Aviation Security Service (AvSec) implemented the new TimeFiler product, rolling timesheets out to all 900 security staff in the country. Read the AvSec news announcement here.
2008: TimeFiler 2.0
We picked up a number of clients during the development process, and by mid-2008 we had added the remaining features to complete the product. Solid Energy then became our first user of TimeFiler 2.0 using leave requests and timesheets.
We’re now totally focussed on marketing our product and extending our client base. We’re excited about the future and look forward to working with you.
